This week has been World Nursery Rhyme Week with a focus on a different rhyme each day! As well as having lots of fun singing and acting out the rhymes, we enjoyed some follow-up activities too . . . At the start of the week we had 'The Wheels on the Bus' so we decided to create an advert for a new bus driver! What else could we have included do you think? We did lots of number activities linked to 'Five Little Speckled Frogs' as well as going outside and trying to make the frog land on the lily pad - which we found was much harder than it looked! After singing 'Hickory Dickory Dock' we went outside and played some games of 'What's the Time Mr Wolf?' There were lots of animals included in our version of 'Old Macdonald had a Farm' and as well as some more number related activities, we thought about the different jobs that might need to be done on the farm . . . Which other jobs can you think of that would need doing? Our final rhyme of the week was 'Miss Polly had a Dolly' - and we made the dolly some 'Get Well' cards! Can you think of other occasions when we send a card? We always enjoy sharing lots of rhymes in the Nursery - we hope you do too!
