We have been very lucky and each child in Nursery has been presented with a lovely book from BookTrust . . . We have enjoyed sharing the stories together! As part of our number activities this week, we have been having fun sharing a rhyme about some little fish and a hungry shark! We took turns to 'feed' our hungry sharks and recorded how many 'fish' they had eaten! We had lots of fun! Last week Jamie-Leigh enjoyed seeing the crab in our 'Fidgety Fish and Friends' book so this week we thought we would read 'Clumsy Crab' . . . In this story, Nipper hates his huge clumsy claws, but one day he finds that they can be very useful after all! Sam told us "They were playing hide and seek, the crab found jellyfish under the stone. Octopus swam into the seaweed" Charlie W added "When the crab . . . when he was counting, the octopus was tangled in seaweed" Reuben had suggested that the crab could use his claws to 'snip' the seaweed - and that's exactly what happened! Henry told us "The crab pinched the seaweed to get the octopus free" Did you enjoy seeing our 'hand print crabs' during the school open evening? We were delighted to see so many of you enjoying a look around on Tuesday after school. If you were unable to make it, here is a little taster of some of our Nursery 'Under the Sea' art . . . We hope you enjoyed taking a look - we are very proud of all the children! |
