We know that for many, this year it will not be possible to celebrate Mother's Day in the way that we would like - but we hope that you all manage to mark the day in your own special way.
The children have been busy making cards and pictures to take home - we hope you enjoy looking at the following . . . We are sorry that not all the children have been photographed, but for obvious reasons we have not been up to capacity this week! Take care, and enjoy your special day.

Today is the first day of Spring! We went for a walk along our school path to look for signs of Spring, we also listened carefully and heard lots of birds up in the trees! "I can see some Spring flowers!" "It has petals" "Tulip! Some are red and some are green and over here this one is starting to open I think cause the petal has moved!" Do you know what this flower is called? We think it is beautiful. Perhaps you could go for a walk and look for signs of Spring too! Congratulations to Sophia W, Seren and Connie for being awarded our 'Star of the Week' Well done all of you! Today we have been having lots of fun participating in a range of sport related activities - and at the same time helped to raise money for SPORT RELIEF! We started off with games of 'Throw it, Catch it!' and 'Bounce it, Catch it!' with a large ball - counting how many times we were able to 'catch' the ball in succession without dropping it, then trying to beat our own score.
After each game we counted the tally marks to see how many points each team had scored, and wrote down their total score before comparing the results. For our final game, we played 'Score a Goal' We took turns to kick the ball and try to get it between the cones! Thank you for all your kind donations - we would love to hear if you have raised money in other ways for SPORT RELIEF, let us know! Today we came to school in our pyjamas and brought our favourite bedtime story to share with our friends! Have you been celebrating World Book Day too? We would love to hear about your favourite story - post us a comment and let us know! We have been looking at 'Several Circles' - a piece of art from the artist Kandinsky. The children have had fun selecting from a range of circular shaped objects and different colours to create their own Kandinsky inspired art! Here are a few of the finished results . . . We think they look great, we hope you do too!
As you know, we planted some beans after we had read the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. Look what has happened to them now . . . Here are just a few things that the children have noticed . . .
Lilly - "The magic bean from inside is growing! I can see leaves on it, they're pointy. There's one, two, three - two are big and one is small!" Lottie - "It's grown, it's wobbly! Leaves - they're flat, one, two, three - one's small and one's big and . . . big!" Jacob - "It's grown really high. It needs water to make it grow. It's got two leaves" Now we are keeping a look out for giants! The children have been very aware of all the flooding that we have had recently, and we have been talking about the colours in a rainbow - so we shared this story that had both a flood and a rainbow in it! Afterwards, Bella told us "I liked Noah and the Ark and the animals"
Noah said "It rained for forty days and forty nights, I liked the dry land after the flood!" Alys told us "I liked the rainbow because it was sunny and raining, it made the rainbow" What do you think it would have been like to be on the Ark with all the animals? Post us a comment and let us know! |
