This week we have introduced our new theme with a look at some paintings by Rousseau and sharing the children's ideas of what it might be like to walk through a jungle. There were suggestions of the different animals that might be seen - along with a few sound effects and actions! Margaux told us "Jungles are scary and I think I like tigers and I'd like to ride one but they might bite me and there might be cheetahs and pelicans and if you see one I might be scared". She then went on to tell us "Monkeys live in the jungle and I might see one that's lovely and I might want to play with one because they're so cheeky, but they're too fast for me!" Conor shared his knowledge with us and said "Tigers live in there and snakes and bats" and as we discussed how he might feel, he told us that he "Might feel a bit nervous - because of the carnivores like lions and tigers". Conor went on to explain what a carnivore is - "It's a predator that eats meat". A little later, Conor also told us "The snakes might squeeze you like boa constrictors and pythons" before adding "And rattlesnakes - rattlesnakes bite you with their quick speed" before concluding with "And herbivores eat plants"!
