This week we have been sharing another lovely book from our focus author Julia Donaldson . . . One wild and windy night the Gruffalo's Child ignores her father's warning and tiptoes out into the snow. After all, the Big Bad Mouse doesn't really exist . . . does he? Conor said "I think his shadow is big, but he is small". When asked why the Gruffalo's Child might have 'tiptoed' out of the cave, he suggested "So that nothing heard her". Later in the story, when talking about the mouse, Conor told us "They're not even really fast because they might fall over their tail because it's really long!" When recalling how the Gruffalo had described the Big Bad Mouse, Eddie said "Terrible pools of fire" (for his eyes). He went on to tell us "The Gruffalo's Child was running away" and then added "Jumped off a log" and when asked why she had done this Eddie replied "Because she's scared". We talked about what she might have been scared of and Eddie told us "The Big Bad Mouse!" After sharing the book together, the children loved meeting the Gruffalo's Child!
We would love to hear what your favourite part of the story was - post us a comment and let us know!

I like the end when the Gruffalo’s Child is safely back in the cave and the Gruffalo “snored and snored and snored”
