Stick Man lives in the family tree with his Stick Lady Love and their stick children three . . . This week we have all been enjoying another lovely story written by our focus author for the term, Julia Donaldson. As I was reading a part where Stick Man was upset, Ivy-Jean said "Oh, don't be sad, you have to be happy Mrs Wilson!". A little later in the story we talked about what was happening to the snowman and she told us that he was "Melting with the sun". Along with with the other children, Ivy-Jean loved joining in with "I'm Stick Man, I'm Stick Man, I'M STICK MAN, that's me"! After finishing the story, Oscar W told us "Santa was stuck in the chimney" and when asked what happened next, he replied "They rescued him". We talked about who it was that had rescued him and Oscar said it was "Stick Man". He went on to say that Santa "Bumped himself". We talked about why Santa was in the chimney and Hattie told us that he was "Getting the presents" and when asked 'who for?' she replied "For Stick Man" then continued "And for the boy". We talked about why they might be getting presents and Hattie beamed as she said "Christmas!" she then added "Santa is in his sleigh". The children had lots of fun making their own little Stick Man . . . You could make one too and then go on an adventure together!
