This week we have been reflecting on the traditional tales that we have been sharing recently and some of the things that the characters (Little Red Riding Hood and Goldilocks) had done that led to them not being safe in the story. We then talked about the importance of keeping safe when using the internet. After talking about some of the things that we can do online we read and discussed the story of 'Digiduck and the Magic Castle'. This was followed later in the day by reflecting back on the story, using stick puppets of the characters to help us decide on some safety advice and who we would go to if we needed help or were worried about anything online.
We thought about some of the 'ingredients' for getting along well with our friends and created a 'kinder internet ' spell to help make the internet a kinder and happier place for everyone.
The children suggested the following to add to our spell: *Sharing *Smiley faces *A cuddle *Picking flowers *A heart *Being kind *Playing together What would you add to the spell? We have also shared an online story '#Goldilocks - A Hashtag Cautionary Tale' by Jeanne Willis and Tony Ross. This was not only great for Safer Internet Day, but was also a perfect fit for our current focus on Goldilocks!
