Following on from meeting Kipper and his friends last week, we have shared our first Mick Inkpen book together. This lovely story provided us with lots of opportunities for one to one correspondence when counting toys into and out of the toybox, working out how many more or less there were each time and imagining what would happen if some of our toys came to life!
Lily told us "A mouse was in there . . . inside the sock, the mama and the dadda mouse were in there with the babies. They moved in the sock and he (Kipper) hid behind the owl in his basket where he sleeps. And the mouse eat the box to make a nest!"
