We have been introducing our new 'Darwin' focus for this half-term - 'selfhelpability'! The children thought about how they have changed since starting at Nursery, and chose something that they are proud of that they can now do, something that they are still trying to do, and what they could do in order to help themselves achieve this goal. Below are just a few examples of their responses: Woody told us that she was proud of being able to 'cut a piece of paper with scissors' and was trying hard to 'do up her own buttons'. In order to help herself, Woody said she could 'keep trying to do it'! Ethan told his group that he was proud that he could 'write his name' and was still trying hard to 'write a k'. In order to try and help himself, Ethan suggested he could 'copy over yellow' until he 'can do it'! Abbie was very proud of being able to 'do a lovely picture' for her daddy, and she said that she was still trying hard to 'scoot on the Paw Patrol scooter' and that to help herself she could 'put her feet up and down' so that she could 'move forwards'! How are you going to show 'selfhelpability'?
