This week we have been having fun with plant pots! We took turns to 'pick a plant pot', counting the number of petals that were coloured in on our flower and identifying the corresponding numeral on the pot. Next we sorted ourselves into the correct order before singing a rhyme about 'five little plant pots sitting on the wall'! We developed our understanding and use of positional vocabulary by identifying where the packet of seeds was in relation to the plant pot each time - i.e. 'inside', 'underneath', 'on top', 'in front' or 'behind' etc. We also had fun rolling the dice and collecting the corresponding number of plant pots to put in the first hoop, before repeating this for the second hoop and comparing how many there were in each group before finding the total.
Which group had 'more' plant pots in? Which group had 'fewer' in? Can you see how many plant pots were left?
