This week we have been sharing the traditional tale of Jack and the Beanstalk! After we had read the story, Rosie told us "He eated all the food" (Who ate all the food?) "The giant!" (What did he eat?) "The cake, potatoes" (What else did the giant do?) "He chased Jack" (Where did he chase him?) "Home" (Why did the giant chase Jack?) "Cause he was so naughty!" What can you remember about the story? Post us a comment and let us know! Following a number rhyme about 'Five Green Beanstalks', we went outside to hunt for some beanstalk leaves! "Ten!"
When we got back to Nursery we sequenced the leaves to create our new number line. Which number would have been before '10'? What about the number after '10'? There were lots of leaves on the beanstalk in the story - some of the children made their own beanstalk out of play dough. You could do the same at home - how many leaves will your beanstalk have?
